Hi Challenge 500 Skiers,
 
So, a few of you ventured out to the trails.....  Good on you!  Apparently, the ski conditions were good on the upper half of the touring loop.  It sounds like it was even better after the little snowfall overnight March 7th.
 
As some of you are aware & those of you who read your emails, the gate has been closed/locked BUT that does not mean that you have to stop skiing....  Some of you are still trying to reach the 500 target!  
 
On that note, you have until March 21st to accumulate your mileage.  Please forward your emails to Maryanne to mark on the calendar/chart.  
 
Week 9 is the last week of prize donations.  We have three lucky winners....  We were hoping for more snow & better skiing conditions when these prize envelopes were made up at the beginning of the season!  
 
First Secret Weekly draw was Monday March 1st & the winners are Russell Fry who has won himself a home made toque (made & donated by Barb Matfin), as well as a pair of Men's Auclair ski gloves.  Tracy Moore was the winner of the second draw on March 1st for a home made toque (made & donated by Barb Matfin) as well as a Instant Marinator & a $10 Chartreuse Moose gift card.  Janet Wright is the third winner of the week & the hidden secret prize draw was for March 4th, Janet has won a Rummy games card set (Donated by Fascination Street) &  a $10 Chartreuse Moose gift card.

Well, another week of wonderful skiing!  We have another challenge 500 Member who made it to the BIG 500!  Yeah Tracy Moore!  Amazing considering she's been out of town racing on some weekends!  Mike Matfin just made the 501.5 Km mark today (Tuesday-March 2nd)  However, I've been told by the FSS* that Mike is going to have to have 100 Km's deducted.  (What a shame!)

Mike Matfin  wins himself a pair of YAKTRAX Walker's, Compliments of 100 Mile Sport Shop Ltd. for skiing on Tuesday February 25th, 2010.

Leona Fry wins herself a dozen YUMMY homemade buns (Compliments of Shirley Boyson), a Coors Light Mug with a $10 Chartreuse Moose Gift Card.  The random lucky day was Sunday February 28th!

Mileage can be submitted up to & including March 21st, 2010.  (Clarification - for those of you who thought it was carried over until next year)  We have at least two more weeks of hidden random prize draws.  More great prizes!

Hey fellow skiers.....  What a wonderful week's skiing we had. 
 
Neil Manhard was the first skier to reach the 500 mark & as of today (Monday) Troy Monkman reached his 500 mark. 
 
I've attached the mileage for week six for your records.
 
Our two secret random draw dates were Tuesday February 9th & Thursday February 11th.
 
Troy Monkman was the winner for Tuesday February 9th, 2010 & has won a Organic package (Chicken, eggs & bread) donated by Tom & Karen Puckett.
