With profound sadness the 100 Mile Nordics Ski Society is mourning the loss of one of the club’s founding members. Neil Manhard was a pivotal member of the society from its earliest days, playing a key role in the club’s formation, growth, and continuing success.
Neil’s immense contributions to Nordic skiing will be sorely missed in the Cariboo, across the country, and beyond. His passion, expertise, and commitment to cross country skiing helped Canadian athletes at every stage of their careers, from provincial competition to the Winter Olympics. On behalf of all the club’s members the executive of the 100 Mile Nordics Ski Society extends its condolences to Neil’s family, friends, and colleagues.
With the support of Neil’s family, Cross Country BC has created a fund in his memory at: https://www.canadahelps.org/me/67a8r29. Donations will go towards special educational opportunities for developing BC coaches, in recognition of Neil’s passion for this work. The 100 Mile Nordics Ski Society is also planning for a permanent reminder of Neil’s legacy at the club facilities. More details will be announced as this process moves forward.
