2022 got off to a great start for the 100 Mile Nordics! We are thrilled to announce we have been awarded a $250,000 grant for new snow grooming equipment, through a Capital Project Grant from the Province of British Columbia’s Community Gaming Grants Program. The grant money will be put toward the purchase of a PistenBullly 100 to increase our grooming capacity and service a larger area of the trail network more efficiently. Other funders for the new machine included the Cariboo Regional District and District of 100 Mile House with a $42,000 funding contribution, and $75,000 raised by the 100 Mile Nordics Ski Society, thanks to accumulated savings and the generous donors who supported our funding drive for this initiative.

Young Nordic Racers Shine at Teck Northern Cup #3

Young Nordic skiers from across the region gathered at the 99 Mile Ski Hill on Saturday, January 22 for the Teck Northern Cup #3. Racers set off on courses ranging from 500 metres for the under 6 division, to 5 kilometres for the under-18s.

Participants came from Kamloops, 100 Mile House, Williams Lake, Quesnel, Prince George, Vanderhoof, and MacKenzie. Visiting clubs included Caledonia Nordics, Cariboo Ski Touring, Mackenzie Nordiques Ski Club, Nechako Nordics Ski Club, Overlander Ski Club, and Williams Lake Ski Club.

Thanks to great support by our title sponsor Teck, a plentiful contingent of race officials, volunteers, coaches, parents, and enthusiastic young athletes, the event was deemed a great success. Thanks also to our local Days Inn for providing event participants with special rates and race packages.
